Company Policy

“We always seek to create sustainable new business models, and to be a company who continuously contributes to the society.”

Tanaka, established in 1953, is a manufacturer of textile products for civil works mainly used at rivers, and textile products for various industrial usage, supplying in Japan and to the world. By our stable supply of products throughout the nation that are used for mitigation of flooding of rivers and emergency measures or restoration for the damaged areas, we contribute, as Japan’s leading company of textile products for the civil works of rivers, to nation’s disaster prevention and mitigation. Moreover, by supplying products which are made by recycled materials and palm fiber which are friendly to the environment, we also contribute to the remedy for climate and social changes of the world today, including reduction of CO2.

In 2020 we have contracted from JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) the work for a “Business Model Formulation Survey with the Private Sector” scheme in Cambodia, and for that we were certified from them as one of their “JICA-SDGs Partners”. In such a way we have been working on creating business models that will help materializing a sustainable society. Also in 2020, we became a group company of Kyowa Concrete Industry Co.,Ltd., whose group of companies have a very high technical capacity, a network of 100 manufacturing facilities and 50 sales offices throughout the country, which has brought us an great opportunity to leap forward by utilizing their assets.

Tanaka has been always striving for “Challenge and Evolution”, by realizing our principle of “Contributing to the society through creating a safe and secure environment and comfortable living environment”, “Manufacturing products which are Eco-Friendly”, and ”Giving joy and contentment to all the people who are related to Tanaka”.
We will continue our “Challenge and Evolution”, by never thinking that our ways of doing things are the best optimum, by making best efforts to acquire new information and knowledge, and by thinking deeply and actively the things around us with clear vision.

(Founding) Succeeded the rice business from the former Tanaka Store
August, 1940
Established a polished barley factory at Shimojo, Izumiotsu-shi, Osaka
August, 1941
Appointed as a designated factory of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry
November, 1953
(Establishment) Reorganized as a corporate body and re-started with the company name Tanaka Polished Barley Co.,Ltd.
April, 1959
Started production of fabric made of cotton and other staple fibre
June, 1964
In accordance with the Enterprise Reorganization Act, abolished the polished barley business and changed the company name to Tanaka Spinning Co.,Ltd.
March, 1970
Started nonwoven fabric business in Asahicho, Izumiotsu, Osaka
April, 1972
Abolished the spinning and woven cloth section
October, 1972
With the expansion of nonwoven fabric machinery, established a new factory at 12-23 Miyacho, Izumiotsu-shi, Osaka, and integrated the facilities of Asahicho
