Special lectures continue to be held at universities in Cambodia

Our company is a member of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency)'s SME/SDGs business support project ("Demonstration project to commercialize the introduction of drainage sheets to prevent road collapse due to rainfall seepage in Cambodia”), we are investigating and verifying the commercialization of our product “Geostream” in Cambodia (see the topic “Re-certified as a JICA-SDGs Partner!” dated August 16, 2023). Geo-synthetics (plastic/fiber composite materials for civil engineering), which are used in civil engineering fields such as roads, rivers, and ports, are not widely used in the country. Based on our track record and know-how in Japan, our international business department is conducting activities to disseminate information that will contribute to strengthening the country's infrastructure. Continuing to hold special lectures jointly with Aikame Co., Ltd.* at TSI (Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport: Practical Training Center of the Cambodian University of Technology), a university affiliated with the Ministry of Business, Transport and Tourism (equivalent to Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) Currently being implemented.
*Aikame Co., Ltd.: Head office: Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture. A construction company focused on pavement work. Two local subsidiaries are active in Cambodia (a construction company related to road construction and a manufacturing factory for road construction materials made from asphalt).

At the first session held in October 2023, we gave a lecture in English to second and third year students on the basic knowledge of geo-synthetics, including its history, types, functions, uses, and construction examples. The participating students are expected to become experts in Cambodia in the future in fields essential to the country's development, such as infrastructure development, and they listened very intently to this lecture. We plan to continue holding such events in the future, including more specialized content.

Our company will continue to contribute to the environment and society from various perspectives through our business activities.
